As Scouts we take an oath to "do our duty to God and our Country". This includes learning and demonstrating proper respect for this emblem. Cubs and Boy Scouts Honor our Heros on Memorial Day
On September 1st, our Pack toured the Philadelphia Pretzel Factory on Cooper Street in Deptford. 
Mr. Scott was very helpful and informative; he told the kids all about the pretzel-making process.  
 
The boys got to see all the different steps that go into pretzel making, and the machinery that is used in the process.  
The Philadelphia Pretzel Factory was very welcoming, and generous; they gave each boy a bag of fresh-out-of-the-oven pretzels. Delicious! 
September 3rd, a few of our boys and dedicated moms all painted the window at Mario's Pizza to advertise for Pack 177. The window turned out really cool, they all did a great job! More September Pictures Coming Soon
On August 1, our Cubs went down to Ocean City to set sail on a Pirate Adventure! Everyone say AAAAARG!

Everyone had a great time finding sunken treasure, defeating enemy Pirates, and thwarting deadly sea monsters! Then on August 11, we paid a visit to Soupy Island, a free playground and recreational area in Thorofare, NJ sponsored by Campbell's Soup.  
There was a Carousel that is over a hundred years old!   As was this really cool covered slide.  
We set up in a nice pavilion and the kids went off and had a blast. 
We organised a game of kickball 
Soupy Island was a great time, and we plan on going back next summer. Free juice, graham crackers, goldfish crackers and Campbell's Soup was given out, and in addition to a Carousel, a giant slide, and swings, there were two pools to splash around in!

At our July Pack Meeting, many of the boys received Belt Loops and Pins earned at Camp

Battleship New Jersey Trip - Over 300 Scouts from all over New Jersey participated in the overnight on the Battleship. The tour was great and we all had a great time! | |

ALL of our boys finished in the top half of all participants! This year was our best showing as a pack and everyone should be proud of of their achievment!
Here we go again! We all had a great time Again on our visit to the museum and we earned some pins and loops! Our Webelos learned about our natural world through demonstrations, games and skits that illustrate how forests grow, the species that make up an ecosystem, and how humans impact nature. |

Camden Diocese Scout Sunday 
Mass was held at St. Agnes for all Scouts (Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venture Scouts) in the Diocese of Camden. Scouts from all over the Southern New Jersey Council attended.

The theme for our January Pack Meeting Was A-MAZE-ing Games! We had an exciting maze and a race between Mr Watkins and Mr Berile. Congratulations to: Matt on making Webelo and getting his Compass patch. Daniel and Matt for earning Compass Points. And Robert for earning Bobcat. |

Webeols Join the Boy Scouts on a trip to St. Charles Seminary Father Markellos gave a personaly guided tour of St. Charles Seminary to a group of Boy Scouts from Troop 177. Our Webelos were invited and two of them attended. The trip was an interesting look at the school. The tour concluded with Evening prayer in the St Martin Chapel. 
Webelos went to the Academy of Natural Science to earn two activity pins (Geologist & Scientist): Webelos learned how rocks and minerals are formed and used every day in our homes, we visited the Fossil Prep Lab with a Paleontologist, and learned about the different kinds of rocks. The boys also participated in hands-on experiments, demonstrations and discussions to learn about physics! We were also joined by a Bear who earned his Scientist Belt Loop! |

Some of the boys arrived early and helped the Boy Scouts and Knights of Columbus to move gifts for needy families to the Parish Center where they were prepared for distribution.

November 1st - Harvest-Fest boys partcipate in fall activities including insect and crab displays, crafts, fishing, scarecrow stuffing, a hay ride, BB, and Archery. What a fun day! |

Our theme this month is Seeds of Kindness. Many boys recieved their Bobcat award. Our Tiger Leader Ms. Craven completed all the required training and transplanted her trained patch to her sleeve! We also sang Happy Birthday to Daniel and to Mr. Dudley. Many boys brought in food for needy families (Thanks for the hard work!) | | Scouting for Food! |  | Thanks to everyone who participated in our annual food drive. The boys brought in many cans of food (over 20 bags!) that will be distributed to hungry families in the Blackwood area. Webelos Joined the Boy Scout trip to the US Naval Academy! They camped in a cabin with the Troop and toured the Naval Academy on Saturday. |
The oldest Thanksgiving Day Parade in the country is in Philadelphia and we marched in it! We Marched behind the ACME float and carried signs with the words of the Scout Law on them. We all hammed it up for the TV cameras and one of the boys was interviewed BY KYW RADIO! Some of us took mass transit and earned achievments for riding a rrain. What a fun Thanksgiving day! Fort Mifflin was a BLAST! We slept over at Historic Ft Mifflin! Saturday evening we helped with retreat then had a great ziti dinner. We then were taken on a ghost tour of the fort. Sunday morning we ate breakfast and went on a tour given by a period dressed guide and watched a weapons demonstration. |

| Webelos and Boy Scout Troop 177 - Camp Roosevelt Trip |

Four of our Webelos attended a camping trip with Boy Scout Troop 177 to Camp Roosevelt -Elmer,NJ We all had a great time! The Webelos slept in tents that they helped set-up. They were assigned to patrols and were included in all the Boy Scout activities, including: Cooking and eating as a Patrol, a nature hike, learning about camp safety, and a terrific campfire both nights. Thank you Troop 177 for a great time! |

Our October Pack Meeting was held at Chews Landing Fire Co. We gave out many awards (including 2 Webelo Badges Daniel and Matt). We had a special presentation by Mr Young the Fire Martshal and a tour of the firehouse. Thank you Fire Marshal Young and Commissioner Watkins for a special meeting! | |

We held our annual Round-up on September 26th. The theme this year was "CARNIVAL GAMES!" Bring a buddy to Scouting! Over 20 boys joined our pack!Everyone enjoyed the snacks, games and prizes! And the balloon art by Gina the Balloon Girl was a big Hit! |

Our pack went to Pine Hill Scout Reservation on Sunday morning (September 14th). We all had a great time! Everyone shot BBs and Archery. 8 boys earned their BB and Archery beltloops! Thanks to Capt. Ron for opening the ranges! |

Friday September 5th was our regular monthly Pack meeting. The boys recieved the awards they earned in August. We all learned about being a buddy and sang a great song! We inducted Craig Watkins as our new Bear Den Leader. Thank you very much for your commitment to the boys! And good luck in your new role! |
| Ben Franklin Hike |

The pack went on a hike to the important places in Ben Franklins life (in Philadelphia). The trail included Franklin's Court, Independence Hall, Christ Church, and the Fireman's Hall Museum. Friday August 8th was our regular monthly Pack meeting. The boys recieved awards and we all had SMORES! We inducted two leaders to new positions with the Pack! Amy Craven is now our Tiger Den Leader and Dolly Wakely is our Assistant Den Leader for the Wolves! Thank you both very much for your commitment to the boys! And good luck in your new roles! |

The theme of Day Camp this year is Heros. Our Pack (11 boys and 3 leaders) attended week 1 "Everyday Heros". We met Firefightyers and EMTs. We also had fun in the new pool, fishing, boating, and at the BB and archery ranges. |

| Kyle made the local morning news show this week. He has been a contributor to a new web site for kids news (written and edited by kids). The site is called OurKidsNews.com (there is a link on our Links page). Kyle has written several stories about our Pack and Scouting. (Follow the link below to the video of his appearance).

| Webelo Resident Camp - 2008 |

In June, two of our Webelos participated in Resident Camp. They earned activity pins for Engineer, Forester, Naturalist, and Outdoorsman. They enjoyed BBs, Archery, Swimming, Flag Football, and other special activities. They worked hard to reclaim a trail and met Phlex from the Phantoms and Bob Kelly from the Flyers. |
Flag Retirment at American Legion Post 281 In June we participated in a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the American Legion Post 281. The boys learned about the proper care and respect for our flag. They assisted the men of the American Legion by carrying the flags to be respectfully retired. Afterwards they were invited into the post for hot dogs and a conversation with Mayor Rau-Hatton. |
| Spring Camp at Camp Garrison! |

In April we camped in Tee-Pees at Camp Garrison in PA. We went on a hike, fished, played games and did some leather crafts. The first evening was wet but the rest of the weekend was beautiful! |
